Our Heroes: Our Get-It-Done Children With Special Needs In Our Community

What a get-it-done kid. Meet 3 year old, Keilany. Her favorite quote is "Oh my God!". And she loves singing and dancing. Her recent accomplishment. Counting.   What a get-it-done kid. Fantastic. As a Central Florida community galvanizing together. Each doing their part.   We get-it-done for our children with special needs. We have some terrific kids in our community. Some with special needs who are fantastic kids.   They are amazing. Incredibly talented kids. Many of them with special needs are in foster care. Too many of our adult youth with special needs leave foster care homeless. Keilany got it done. She is counting. She just got that (bleep) done.   Nobody raised their hand and said, "Well, what about her special needs? What about the lack of resources?" Naaaa. There's resources. We'll get her counting. Let's get-it-done. Parents. Teachers. Instructors. Specialists. Family support. Coalitions. Groups. And maybe a neighbor or two in the community who brought over a pie. They just got it done.   No excuses. No voting about it. No 5 year strategic plan. No bickering and moaning about special needs resources.   No boring fundraisers with cucumber sandwiches. With the sides sliced off. No car washes.   No chocolate fountains to stick chunks of pineapple on skewers into the chocolate waterfall. They just got it done.   As a Central Florida community galvanizing together. Each doing their part.   We get-it-done for our children with special needs. What a get-it-done kid : )
