What Happens In Vegas, Stays In Vegas. Except Youth Homelessness Planning.

Las Vegas again. A get-it-done county for our homeless youth.

15,000 homeless youth in LV County.

$825,000 in new, 1st time, federal investment dollars. From HHS. DJJ.

1st phase - $450,000 over 3 years. Expand mentoring. Counseling for our LGBT homeless kids.

And homeless kids being sex trafficked in LV County.

2nd phase - $375,000 over 3 years. Expand Drop-in Center hours. More essential survival kits being provided.

A community collaboration among agencies and organizations who decided to quit sitting on their hands and work together.

Drop the resource battles. Drop the egos. Drop the bickering over governance. And who does what. And when. And how.

Just get stuff done for their homeless kids. Fantastic. And that's okay.

It's okay to have a couple of regions in our country who are get-it-done communities.

Nobody raised their hand and said, "Well, what about the requirements?" Or "What about the governance structure?"

What about it. We're just going to get-it-done.

We have an opportunity to get kids into permanent supportive homes.

Let's get that done. And excited about it. Looking forward to the challenge.

Fantastic. You gotta love it.

Just a couple of organizations who had a couple of meetings. Drew up a plan. Submitted the plan.

And $825,000 later. There you go. Get to it. Get it done.

Las Vegas again. A get-it-done county for our homeless youth.
